Mimesis exhibition at Pictura Gallery, Bloomington, IN

3 June - 26 August 2022

Mimesis will be on view at Pictura Gallery June
3rd - August 26th. Artist, Claire A. Warden, physically manipulates sheets of photographic film to create black and white abstract forms. These compositions appear almost topographic or celestial, hovering on the edge of being recognizable. Viewers are left with the desire to know exactly what they are. Warden uses this visual tension to speak about knowledge and power, and the cultural pressure to clearly define individual identities.

Opening Reception and Artist Talk:

Friday, June 3rd 5pm-9pm
